21 years of Matchmaking, Maureen Tara Nelson was called the Irish American Matchmaker and even wrote a single advice
column for the Irish Voice.
She is very proud of her Irish heritage; her mother’s family came from Knock, County Mayo and she still has some cousins there. Maureen states “I wish my mother, Margaret O’Donnell was here to see this, but we know she’s looking down on me and my boys from heaven.” Maureen’s mother was a famous Irish step dancer when she was younger and met her husband (Maureen’s father), Earle when she lived in Brooklyn. When you think about it, falling in love in Brooklyn is very Ir-ish. Many Irish people moved to Brooklyn, fell in love, had families, and moved on.
Maureen has been asked to match people in Ireland for many years, but now is finally the time to announce MTN’s new division.
