Happy Spring!
This season is full of opportunities to redefine yourself using your own definitions. In spring 2022, we have a challenge for you. Regardless of your past, ask yourself the question: “Who do you want to be?” It’s never too late to redefine yourself and move forward with goals in order to achieve that. Ask yourself: “What makes me happy?” and follow it. If you don’t know what will make you happy, make this an opportunity to find it. Try new things and lean into your intuition. Don’t be afraid to fail either. This isn’t a simple task, so don’t put so much pressure on yourself.Â
Don’t get me wrong, we aren’t asking you to forget where you came from. We have to honor our past and learn from it. Don’t ask yourself who you want others to perceive you as. We have to move past seeking validation from others and throw away the impact they have on our decisions and the way we act. The only way to find our path is to act as authentically and honestly as possible. When we are true to who we are, we open doors we had no idea existed. Trying to be someone else only leads you on a path that is not authentic to yourself. Life is too short to pretend to be someone we’re not. This can sound scary and frightening to suddenly change, but it is the most freeing experience in life to decide to choose yourself.Â
Sometimes when we are confronted with change our first instinct is to justify our current circumstances regardless of our happiness. Like I said before, it’s not easy. Change is very hard, but it’s worth it if it’s in the direction of our happiness. Staying the same to make others happy or not ‘rock the boat’ is doing a disservice to yourself and others. If you’re not working on yourself how can you be 100% for the people around, you?
