This can be an exciting new chapter, and for single seniors on Long Island, there are many opportunities to connect—while staying safe along the way.
Whether you’re newly single or simply ready to try again, today’s dating world offers more options than ever before.
Start by choosing the right places to meet. Dating websites and apps designed specifically for seniors can be very dangerous. There have been a record number of scams going on with seniors in our area, for both men and women.
Senior singles have been coming into our program, MTN Matchmaking, where we have a special program designed specifically for seniors on Long Island, telling us how they’ve been scammed out of thousands of dollars by thinking they were corresponding with a real person whom they were even developing feelings for, only to find out it wasn’t a real person. That is completely unacceptable!
I even make sure as the owner of MTN Matchmaking, that I treat all of our senior clients just as I did my own dad who joined my service at 72 years old after being married to my mom for 50 years, and then being widowed for five years. This always was and always will be my favorite success story… I found my father Lynn, who was only his third match and my dad found love again. ❤️
We do a felony background check on our clients and we do not take everyone on. We make sure we keep our single safe so that they can enjoy finding love again during this most special time of their lives…
Another great option to finding love can be by attending local community centers, libraries, faith-based groups, and social clubs in Suffolk county, and by attending these events alone.
These environments encourage genuine connections and shared interests. It’s even a great idea to make friendships in these avenues and enjoy companionship.
Safety should always come first when you are looking for love, especially in the senior age group.
Take your time getting to know someone before meeting in person. When you do meet, choose a public place like a coffee shop, restaurant, or park, and let a friend or family member know where you’re going.
Never feel pressured to share personal details such as your home address, financial information, or medical history. Never give this information out to anyone in the beginning phases of getting to know each other. This information should never be asked of you in the beginning and is a huge red flag to look out for. Only give out this information when you are in a serious, committed relationship.
Trust your instincts. If something feels off, it probably is and it’s okay to step back.
Make sure your family and friends know you would like to find love again and this is a great way to get introduced to other singles in a safe way.
Healthy relationships can be found on Long Island, for our single seniors.
Most importantly, stay open-hearted and positive. ❤️
Love at any age is possible, and for Long Island seniors 65 and older, safe, meaningful companionship may be closer than you think.
